Food For Thought: Noodles in Chengdu

I don’t remember what these particular noodles were called, but I certainly remember eating them! A Chinese friend from school took over ordering at a restaurant, and I found myself presented with first a tray full of tiny bowls with uncooked meat, vegetables, and an egg, and second, a steaming cookware pot of broth and noodles. I was quickly instructed to dump each little bowl into the pot and stir it all up. I did so, and just like that, I had noodle soup with a beautiful cooked egg, tomato, and various meats. I particularly enjoyed the tomato – I don’t get many of them here.
